We all know that there are a bunch o’ Lightboxes out on the web and they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

I have seen at least 50 of them in action and used a whole bunch in my own projects.

Here are some really incredible lightboxes (at least that’s my opinion) that make the short list and keep you from sifting through the endless slough out there.

Without further ado:

Galleria

Galleriffic

Facebox

Clearbox

Multibox

PrettyPhoto

Fancybox

ShadowBox

These lightboxes cover pretty much everything a client can throw at you from wanting thumbnails, to simple modal windows, portfolio usage, photo galleries, you name the possibilities are endless and a bunch them allow you to load external content via iframes and play different media types.

Have fun!

I just wrote a quick post about jQuery Easy Slider, but I thought I would also point out the Cycle Plugin.

jQuery Cycle Plugin is wicked awesome and also has a tons of fetures to make some really slick effects on yor sites.

Here is the overview straight from the plygin page:

“The jQuery Cycle Plugin is a lightweight slideshow plugin. Its implementation is based on the InnerFade Plugin by Torsten Baldes, the Slideshow Plugin by Matt Oakes, and the jqShuffle Plugin by Benjamin Sterling. It supports pause-on-hover, auto-stop, auto-fit, before/after callbacks, click triggers and many transition effects. It also supports, but does not require, the Metadata Plugin and the Easing Plugin.”

Check out the demos! I hope you get some great use out of this one.

We used this cool little feature on the codeluv.com site to basically scroll to anchor points within the page.

Learning jQuery is a great resource for doing this type of navigation.

Also if you want to change the easing just add the easing plugin and drop in some code like this:

$('html, body').animate(
  {scrollTop: targetOffset}, 400, 'easeInOutExpo'
);

Another great resource for this type on unconventional navigation can be found at Ariel Flelers’ Blog, check out the demos to see how you can scroll vertically, horizontally, or a combo and go diagonally.

Hope you can use this in one of your future projects!
